One last note: I do want to make it clear that I think the film is one of the more popular Bing Crosby films remaining, and will likely have a shot at release, either via Kino or Universal themselves. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see Kino paying for a new transfer (if they ever license it), and Universal's MOD program releases essentially the same transfers that they would license out. While it would be nice to see it bettered, Kino's Insider has repeatedly said that Bing Crosby's films are not big sellers (again, they may be working with sales data from Universal themselves), so the odds of this one being given a full-blown restoration at this point are not very good. Hawkins infiltrates the court of the evil villain Basil Rathbone, but when a sorceress hypnotises him, royal chaos ensues. It's owned by Universal, who created a lot of HD scans when releasing stuff on DVD, and they seem for the most part to just be licensing out/releasing those HD scans for Blu-ray. Danny Kaye plays kind-hearted entertainer Hawkins who disguises himself as the legendary king of jesters, Giacomo.

I would definitely agree with wanting this one on Blu-ray! It's always been a fun movie to see every now and then! But I wouldn't get your hopes up too much for this one to see that much improvement over the DVD if it came out.
